  Cascade Pet Camp Classes

Cascade Pet Camp in Hood River offers a 2-hour class entitled "How Dogs Learn & Why They Behave Like They Do." This is a great introduction to the topic of dog behavior. Whether you're just starting to build a relationship with your dog, or have had a dog in your household for years, this class is well worth your time. Part presentation, part fun and games, this "humans only" seminar (dogs do not attend) will give you an insight into the psychology of how dogs learn and the ethology of their natural behavior and motivation.

This seminar is a prerequisite for many of the other classes offered by Cascade Pet Camp.

If you need some financial assistance or an added incentive to attend, PROD will issue you a coupon for 50% off.  For a discount coupon, call PROD at 541-387-DOGS (3647).

Additional Training Classes offered by

Cascade Pet Camp:

Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy class is one of the most important classes your dog will ever take. It gets your puppy on the right track early in life with fun training and socialization!  You'll learn how to teach your pup good manners such as sitting, lying down, coming when called, walking on a loose leash and playing nicely with others (both people and dogs).  You'll also learn how to deal with common puppy issues such as chewing, housetraining, mouthing/biting, and jumping.  Classes include lots of structured off-leash socialization with people and puppies. For puppies aged 8-18 weeks.

Companion Dog I

This comprehensive beginner's class is for socialized adolescent and adult dogs with little or no previous training.  We emphasize teaching your dog practical obedience that's useful around your home and neighborhood.. Dog skills covered include attention, sit-stay, down-stay, coming when called, walking on leash, politely greeting people and other dogs, drop that, and leave that alone. Behavior problem prevention and fun training games and toys are also covered. For dogs over 16 weeks of age.

Companion Dog II

Builds your dog's skils and your training abilities.  Covers reliable distance recalls, solid stays, heeling, back up, move where I say, and a trick or two.

Novice Agility

A fun introductory course covering basic agility skills, tunnels, jumps & hurdles, dog walk, A-frame, weave poles, teeter-totter & table.

Practice Makes Perfect   (Agility, Rally & Obedience)

This supervised gym time is for students who have taken prior training classes at Cascade Pet Camp and want some refresher instruction or just a dry place to practice your skills around other dogs and people. An instructor will be present to give you pointers and both Rally and Agility equipment will be available.
