Dogs & Kids
Audience: 4th Grade
Time: About 45 minutes

This is a fun and informative program for the 4th graders that stresses dog bite prevention and responsible care for pets. The basics of ownership are discussed, with the goal of teaching children what they need to do to best meet the needs of their dogs.

The program features a kid-friendly canine who aids in demonstrating the need to “pay attention” when in the company of dogs.

Adopt-a-Classroom
Audience: 5th Grade
Time: Varies

KIND News is a tool to enhance awareness in the classroom. The primary goal of this program is to teach children how to respect animals and treat them with kindness.

The program is based on content of a classroom newspaper developed by NAHEE (National Association for Humane & Environmental Education). This colorful, four page newspaper features puzzles, projects, articles, and interviews to encourage good character, responsible pet care and respect for wildlife and habitat.

Parents, local businesses, and civic groups can help by purchasing classroom gift subscriptions to KIND News.

Program Under Development

Our goal in this class is to strengthen the bond between children and their dogs, help children understand the intelligence of the canine mind, and show them just how capable “man’s best friend” truly is.
